UPDATE 3/2/15: Both dogs were adopted by a school teacher. They are happy and adjusting to their new home! Petra Hawks wishes to express her gratitude for your support.
David and Inge Hawks' dogs, Hansi and Herzi are in desperate need of a home, as there owners are now deceased. Inge Hawk was an active member of the former Carmel Dachshund Club until 2009 when she passed. Her husband, David, recently passed. Both dogs should be kept together, as they've been together all their lives.
Hansi, the male, is an 8-year-old, black-and-tan, weighing 14.5 lbs. He had spinal surgery two years ago and made a great recovery. He does not care much for other dogs, though. Hansi does, however, LOVE PEOPLE. He loves to cuddle and plays fetch.
Herzi is a female. She is a 10-year-old red, and weighs 13 lbs. She is much quieter, but sometimes still wants to play ball. Herzi is a cuddle bug. Her coloring is cinnamon.
Recent health history is available, further back is available at Center Animal Hospital in Castroville. Shots are up to date. They are fed twice a day, get treats, love veggies, sleep in their own baskets. Both used to sleep with their owner. They are both potty trained and have done well with strangers
